It should be noted that Bowie was on a not insignificant quantity of drugs during that period, so he's quite likely strung out in that picture.

Great news, great article. Smiths singer/lyricist Morrissey has always thrived on sexual ambiguity. Both with The Smiths and in his solo career he was never shy about writing from a female perspective.

...as well as a couple I've never heard before! Gonna have to check out that Franz Ferdinand one. And "Lola" is just epic. I blare it all the time, much to my sister's chagrin (her name is Lola). I also love "Walk on the Wild Side."

Fun fact about Lou Reed: David Bowie's song "Queen Bitch" is about him. In other words, David Bowie has rubbed elbows (and other body parts) with approximately half of the most influential people in pop music.
