Madonna wins Golden Globe for Best Song

There was some controversy after the Golden Globes concerning Madonna’s recent win for best original song for the ballet, “Masterpiece.”  She co-wrote the song the sang it for her film, W.E.” However, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish had something to say about her win and felt that she shouldn’t have won the award.  Furnish took to the social networking site Facebook and said that, “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit, Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."

Madonna had beaten out Elton John’s song, “Hello Hello” from the Gnomeo and Juliet soundtrack and Mary J. Blige’s “The Living Proof” song from the movie, “The Help.”

Elton John’s husband David Furnish apologized yesterday for slamming Madonna’s Golden Globe win.  He felt that his comments were taken out of proportion. He claimed that his emotional juices got going after losing to Madonna. He also said that he thought that Madonna was a great artist, and he and Elton John wish her the best for her upcoming premiere of her movie, “W.E.”  It sounded as if there were lots of criticisms to go around between Elton John’s partner and Madonna.

Madonna had slammed Lady Gaga for her 2010 song “Born This Way” sounding similar to her song, “Express Yourself.”  She said that she recognizes the chord changes, said it was interesting and said it was a wonderful way to redo her song. Madonna currently has a new album coming out this year titled, “M.D.N.A.” which is to come on this March.
