YELLE: the best of hot French pop (chicks)

Oh mon dieu! These jams are FRESH! I have been seriously grooving to some Yelle lately! If you like to move the booty, check this out!!!! Yelle combines the best of new pop, mixing a little rap with electro, and combining some synth and fast drumbeats with the innocent babydoll voice of young French singer, Julie Budget. The je ne sais quois, of Yelle's quirky French sound makes it incredibly interesting to listen to, even if you don't typically dig pop music. Yelle first rose to fame amidst controversy, which Myspace is SO good at promoting. She posted a song on the website called "Short Dick Cuizi" dissing a member of French hip-hop group, TTC. Shortly thereafter, she released her album debut Pop-Up, which features my favorite song, "Je Teux Te Voir". HOT! You MUST watch the video! I love the style! Bold colors, simple shapes, and child-like details. Yelle has been featured repeatedly on MTV, BBC, Nylon, and Last Call with Carson Daly. Once you have a look and a listen, you'll know why! If you are looking for new music to play at your next dance party or some tunes to keep you keepin' on the Stairmaster... look no further. You are sure to love!
